In February 2007 Latino Community Development, Corp. established itself as a 501 (3) (c) non-profit corporation.
Events and fundraisers include Santa Comes to Town, Latino Swing golf outing, Latino Dining Experience, Health Fairs, Seminars and the Mobile Food Pantry.
In addition to these successful events, LCD also gives the Latino community the tools, resources and opportunities to empower themselves. Recently, they partnered with Libertad Financial Services to provide financial counseling, banking support and assistance with renting or buying homes. Other tools offered include resources on finding a job and interviewing, nutrition and health, and just about anything else important to a growing community.
Much of the success of LCD is made possible through charitable companies that care about their community including Lilly Endowment, Sams Club, State Farm Insurance, Sysco Food Services, Marsh, Wal-Mart, Daimler-Chrysler, Financial Center, Indiana Pacers, and La Que Buena 810 AM Radio.
Latino Community Development, Corp. has grown beyond expectations and its vision continues to expand to make a difference in the Latino community. In 2007, LCD expanded their services to the entire state of Indiana.
